ARMENIA, BULGARIA TO STRENGTHEN BILATERAL COOPERATION

Armenia and Bulgaria intend to expand and strengthen their cooperation, RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan and Bulgarian Ambassador to Armenia Stefan Dimitrov stated at their meeting in Yerevan.
YEREVAN, July 10. /ARKA/. Armenia and Bulgaria intend to expand and strengthen their cooperation, RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan and Bulgarian Ambassador to Armenia Stefan Dimitrov stated at their meeting in Yerevan.

Making a high appraisal of the current level of bilateral relations, the RA Premier attached importance to the intensification of bilateral efforts to strengthen them and expand cooperation in various spheres.

Ambassador Dimitrov conveyed Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev’s congratulations to Premier Sargsyan. The Bulgarian Premier expressed his country’s interest in strengthening traditional Armenian-Bulgarian ties. In his message, the Bulgarian Premier expressed the confidence that the Armenian Government headed by Premier Sargsyan will continue the process of democratic reforms and Armenia’s integration into European structures.

The sides emphasized the importance of European integration. Dimitrov pointed out great potential work in this sphere, considering the fact that Bulgaria is a member of the EU and NATO, and Armenian is in developing cooperation with them.

Stressing rather comprehensive legal underpinnings between Armenia and Bulgaria, both the sides pointed out the importance of materializing the potential available and bringing the level of economic relations to that of political contacts, which process can be facilitated by the intensification of ties between businessmen, sufficient information on the two countries’ markets, active direct cooperation and dialogues  between ministries. 

The Bulgarian Ambassador pointed out that during his diplomatic mission in Armenia he will work for the opening of the Yerevan-Sofia flight. The development of economic cooperation, increasing trade turnover between the countries, expanding cooperation in a number of spheres will make this initiative a reality. 

In conclusion, the RA Premier stressed that the RA Government will do its best for further consolidation of Armenian-Bulgarian relations and implementation of economic development programs. P.T. –0--
