According to him, the special relationship between Armenia and France have deep historical roots goштп back to Armenian-French contacts in 11-14 centuries, in the days of Cilician Armenian kingdom, when marriageы and strategic alliances between Armenian and French aristocratic houses were concluded and ties strengthened and grew into a deep-rooted sincere friendship.

"It is not accidental that the last Armenian king Levon VI was laid to rest on French soil, next to the kings of France,” Sargsyan was quoted as saying by his press office.

He noted said the scope of mutual recognition expanded in the most fateful period in the history of the Armenian people.

"We have here more than a hundred companies with French capital, including Credit Agricole bank, Orange, Pernod Ricard. I am hopeful that soon we will be able to add new names to this list," said Sargsyan.

He noted that the two countries have made significant achievements in cultural and educational spheres. According to him, decentralized cooperation developing in various fields between about 30 sister-cities of Armenia and France is worth mentioning.

"Dear Mr. President, I welcome you again in Armenia. I am sure that in the coming years we will have the opportunity to work together and pool our efforts in the name of friendship between our countries and peoples. I am confident that your state visit will set up another pillar in the temple of the Armenian-French friendship," said Sargsyan.

"I ask you all together, stand up, and wish friendship, durability and strength to our countries and peoples,’ said Sargsyan. –0--
