YEREVAN, July 12. /ARKA/. Kazakhstan has opened its embassy in Yerevan.

Kazakh Ambassador to Armenia Ayimdos Bozzhigitov, speaking Wednesday at the ceremony of the embassy opening, said this is a landmark event in the two countries r5elationship record.

Novosti-Armenia News Agency quoted the ambassador as saying that Armenia and Kazakhstan have long maintained friendly relations. “These centuries-long relations are reflected in architectural monuments and manuscripts”, he said.

The diplomat said the countries maintain bilateral ties as well as multilateral relations within OSCE, CIS and CSTO.

Bozzhigitov expressed gratitude to Armenia for supporting Kazakhstan in its efforts to get OSCE chairmanship in 2009.

He pointed out Armenia’s fast-developing economy and said that it is reckoned among highly free economies in the world.

The ambassador said Kazakhstan has considerable investment resources.

He thinks that the countries are mutually complementary and finds prospects for further cooperation high.

Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Gegham Gharibjanyan, in his turn, said that both countries were willing to make ties between them closer and Armenian President Robert Kocharyan’s visit last year gave a new impetus to the relations.

“We hope Kazakhstan’s investment success will be visible in Yerevan and neighboring republics”, the deputy minister said. M.V.-0--
