Relations between Armenia and the EU have entered a new stage of development, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said today during a meeting with EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, the press service of the government said
YEREVAN, November 18. /ARKA/. Relations between Armenia and the EU have entered a new stage of development, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said today during a meeting with EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, the press service of the government said.
"As a result, we have given new impetus to the reforms we are implementing," Sargsyan said.
In turn, Ashton expressed satisfaction over the progress in the development of relations between Armenia and the European Union, noting that she is aware of the amount of work done by Armenia to deepen relations with the EU, in particular, on the association agreement and on a deep and comprehensive free trade zone.
"We are ready to assist Armenia in achieving economic progress, which can be greatly contributed by the signing of an agreement on deep and comprehensive free trade zone," Ashton said.
During the meeting, Sargsyan presented the priorities of the government and the progress in ongoing work to establish the country's middle class and civil society, as well as introduce European values. The parties also discussed regional problems.-0-
