20.07.2007, 03:11
Moral standards are the only value in Armenia the political forces can rally round on the threshold of presidential elections in the country, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA) Aram Sargsyan told reporters.
YEREVAN, July 19. /ARKA/. Moral standards are the only value in Armenia the political forces can rally round on the threshold of presidential elections in the country, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA) Aram Sargsyan told reporters.

“If our unification is not based on moral standards, we can lose everything we have achieved,” he said.

Sargsyan pointed out a number of urgent problems – social and national ones – as well as the Nagorno-Karabakh problem.

“Today, the Armenian people is faced with a most acute problem of changing its national image,” Sargsyan said. He pointed out that the people is now losing its national features.

The DPA Chairman pointed out that this is the most serious consequence of the Armenian authorities’ policy overt the last 16 years.

“If no unification round the idea of not only rehabilitation, but also promotion of national values, takes place in the country, the Armenian nation may suffer losses,” he said.

According to Sargsyan, the Armenian people has always had and must retain its national features in the future.

“For the sake of this, we must be ready to put all the other problems away,” he said.
Sargsyan pointed out the necessity for large-scale system reforms for the revival of the national image. P.T. –0--
