Armenia’s president congratulates Bako Sahakyan on election to post of Karabakh’s president

Armenia’s President Robert Kocharyan is sure, that Bako Sahakyan's direction, close cooperation with other branches of power and attempts of all Artshakh people, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic will continue its economic and political development.
YEREVAN, July 20. /ARKA/. Armenia’s President Robert Kocharyan congratulated Bako Sahakyan on being elected to the post of the President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
“I am sure that under your direction, close cooperation with other branches of power and attempts of all Artshakh people, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic will continue its economic and political development,” runs the greeting message that the President’s press service provided ARKA.
Kocharyan expressed confidence that Sahakyan with new strengths will contribute to the solution of problems that Karabakh and its people face.
“The elections testify to the formation of a state based on democratic principles. It also testifies to the irreversibility of historic reality – the existence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic,” the message runs.
The Armenian President wished an effective activity to his Karabakh colleague for the sake of Artshakh and its people.
During the CEC session the preliminary data on presidential elections held on July 19 were approved, according to which, in particular, 59,316 voters out of 92,128 voted for Bako Sahakyan. L.M. –0--
