Based on the geodetic measurements carried out within the framework of on coordinates clarification on the border between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, 35 border pillars have been installed as of April 29, 2024, which is more than half of the planned work, the press service of the Armenian government reports. The work of the expert groups of the two countries continues.

YEREVAN, April 30. /ARKA/. Based on the geodetic measurements carried out within the framework of on coordinates clarification on the border between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, 35 border pillars have been installed as of April 29, 2024, which is more than half of the planned work, the press service of the Armenian government reports. The work of the expert groups of the two countries continues.

On April 19, commissions on delimitation of the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan tentatively agreed on the passage of certain sections of the border line directly between the settlements of Baganis (Armenia) - Baganis Ayrum (Azerbaijan), Voskepar (Armenia) - Ashagi Askipara (Azerbaijan), Kirants (Armenia) - Kheirimli (Azerbaijan) and Berkaber (Armenia) - Kyzyl Hajili (Azerbaijan), in order to bring them in line with the legally justified inter-republican border that existed within the Soviet Union at the time of its dissolution. The protocol should be agreed and signed by the parties by May 15, 2024.

The parties agreed that in the process of delimitation will be based on the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991, this basic principle will be fixed in the draft Regulations of joint activities of the commissions. The draft of this document should be agreed by July 1, 2024.

   It was also agreed that measures should be taken for simultaneous and parallel-0-
