As of 8:00am Serge Sargsian still leader of presidential election in Armenia

As of 8:00am local time the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia processed the data received from 1,891 of 1,923 polling stations, the Chairman of CEC Garegin Azarian reported. 1mln 663,946 people have voted at the mentioned polling stations.
YEREVAN, February 20. /ARKA/. As of 8:00am local time the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia processed the data received from 1,891 of 1,923 polling stations, the Chairman of CEC Garegin Azarian reported. 1mln 663,946 people have voted at the mentioned polling stations.

Azarian said that the first three leaders in the election are Serge Sargsian with 859,481 votes, Levon Ter-Petrosian with 349,774 votes and Arthur Baghdasarian with 271,688 votes.

The candidate from ARF Dashnaktsutiun Vahan Hovhannisian obtained 100,515 votes, the Chairman of the National Democratic Union Vazgen Manukian – 20,930 votes, the leader of the People’s Party Tigran Karapetian – 9,747, the leader of “National Unity” Artashes Geghamian – 7,458 votes, the ex Foreign Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh Arman Melikian – 4,354 and the leader of the “National Accord” party Aram Harutiunian – 3,092 votes.

Azarian also reported that 6,212 inaccuracies have been found.

The turnout to the elections was, according to the preliminary information, 69.26% (1, 642,057 people) in the presidential elections Tuesday with total number of the electorate being 2, 328,320 people

14,000 observers from 39 local and 6 international organizations were watching the course of the presidential election. –0--
