Armenian president gives awards to genocide recognition activists

Armenian President Serge Sargsian signed a decree on giving awards to people who made great contribution to recognition of the Armenian genocide.
YEREVAN, April 22. /ARKA/. Armenian President Serge Sargsian signed a decree on giving awards to people who made great contribution to recognition of the Armenian genocide.

Under the decree, the 2007 awards for considerable scientific contribution to recognition of Armenian genocide were given to the Director of Armenian Institute of International Law and Political Science in Moscow Yury Barseghov (Russia) for the two-volume edition “Armenian Genocide: Turkey’s responsibility and the liability of international community” and French writer Yves Ternon.

Under another decree of the President, a Movses Khorenatsi medal was awarded to political scientist professor of University of Pennsylvania Rogers Smith for contribution to international recognition of the genocide of Armenians in Ottoman Empire. –0--
