Successful parliamentary elections in Armenia have paved a way for further reformation, Armenian President Robert Kocharyan said as met with CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation John Danilovic.
YEREVAN, June 12. /ARKA/. Successful parliamentary elections in Armenia have paved a way for further reformation, Armenian President Robert Kocharyan said as met with CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation John Danilovic on Tuesday in Yerevan.

“Armenia is steadfast in pursuing a policy of reforms and we see our country development prospects in effective changes”, presidential press office quoted Kocharyan.

In his words, election irregularities and faults will be carefully scrutinized. He said members of some polling stations’ election commissions had been punished.

Danilovic, in his turn, said that the results of the parliamentary elections were very important to the organization.

Five political parties – Republican Party of Armenia, Prosperous Armenia, Dashknaktsutyun, Orinats Yerkir and Heritage won parliamentary elections in May.

The elections have got a high mark from international observers, who said that they have been held properly, met international standards and showed progress, compared with previous elections. At the same time, the observers pointed out some technical faults.M.V.-0---
