About 60% of Armenian citizens who participated in the GALLUP International Association opinion poll were against the "Trump Route" through Syunik region, said the head of the Armenian representative office of the organization Aram Navasardyan.
YEREVAN, September 5. /ARKA/. About 60% of Armenian citizens who participated in the GALLUP International Association opinion poll were against the "Trump Route" through Syunik region, said the head of the Armenian representative office of the organization Aram Navasardyan.
According to him, in response to the question about the attitude towards the provision of a road through the Syunik region of Armenia, 17.4% of respondents expressed a positive attitude, 18.1% - rather positive, 14.3% - rather negative, 47.6% - completely negative, 5.6% of citizens found it difficult to answer this question.
A total of 1,101 respondents took part in the telephone survey conducted in Armenia from August 25-30.
About the Washington Declaration
Following the meeting of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, US President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held in Washington on August 8, the leaders of the three countries signed a 7-point declaration.
In particular, the document declares the initialing by the Foreign Ministers of the parties of the agreed text of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan; the signing of a statement by the Foreign Ministers of both countries on the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Process and related structures; efforts to ensure unimpeded communication between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through the territory of Armenia based on respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and jurisdiction of states; as well as Armenia's cooperation with the United States and third countries to determine the framework for the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity project in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
