YEREVAN, May 27. /ARKA/. Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan thinks that more realistic information about the timing and time of signing the peace treaty will be provided in the near future.

"Discussions on the peace treaty are ongoing and will continue," Simonyan said at a briefing on Tuesday.
On the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan

On March 13, the Armenian Foreign Ministry confirmed the fact that the draft Treaty "On the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan" had been agreed upon and negotiations on its approval had been completed. The Armenian side stated that the document was ready for signing and that Yerevan was ready to begin consultations with Baku on the timing and place of its signing.

According to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the current content of the draft peace treaty with Azerbaijan can be considered the option of mutual concessions that is acceptable for Armenia.

He noted that the two points of the draft treaty, on which the parties could not reach agreement for some time, but came to a compromise, concern the non-deployment of third-country forces along the entire length of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, as well as the mutual withdrawal of claims filed against each other in international courts and the non-implementation of actions against each other. The President of Azerbaijan also pointed out these two disagreements earlier.

As a precondition for signing the peace treaty, Baku put forward a number of new demands to Yerevan, including reforming the Constitution of Armenia and dissolving the OSCE Minsk Group.
