YEREVAN, December 6. /ARKA/. All the 1,997 polling stations in Armenia where a constitutional referendum took place on Sunday closed at 20:00.
According to the latest reports from the Central Electoral Commission, 1,500,333 citizens or 39.17% of the total number of voters went to the poll.
The police received 96 reports about irregularities in voting.
NO Opposition Front's headquarters issued a statement pointing out cases of fraud in the constitutional referendum in Armenia.
A great number of people residing in rural areas had been included in additional lists that are composed on the basis of requests of those people who can't be in their places on the voting day.
It has become known from the alarming calls from polling stations that dozens of rural residents are included in the voter list of each polling station in Yerevan. Remarkable is that residents of particular areas are attached to particular polling stations in Yerevan.
«It means that this is a well-thought out kind of fraud, and it is remarkable that the turnout on voters in additional lists exceeds that on regular lists many times,» the statement says.
Vladimir Churov, the head of Russia's Central Electoral Commission, who was involved in the process as an observer, said not a single irregularity case has been noticed by Russian observers.
In his words, the turnout is believed to be 40-50%. --0----
