YEREVAN, August 27. /ARKA/. The amendment of the Armenian Constitution was not a topic of discussion in Washington, and Armenia is not obligated to alter its fundamental law in front of any third party, stated Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during an interview with the Public Television of Armenia./

ARKA News Agency summarizes the key statements made by the minister.

- The agreements reached in Washington confirmed that peace now exists between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

- There are plans for the further signing and ratification of the peace treaty.

- The territory of Armenia, through which the infrastructure will be developed, will remain under Armenian ownership.

- There are sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia that are currently under Azerbaijani control. Conversely, there are also territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan that are under Armenian control.

The seven-point declaration, which was signed following the trilateral meeting involving Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 8 in Washington, includes the initialing of the 'Agreement on Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan', a joint application to the OSCE regarding the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group mechanisms, the unblocking of regional communications based on the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and jurisdiction of nations, and the 'Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity' project.-0-
