YEREVAN, September 23. /ARKA/. Artsvik Minasyan, the acting economy minister, denied today media allegations claiming that his party, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation/Dashnaktsutyun (ARF) is planning to walk out from the coalition government, composed together with the Republican Party of Armenia.
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) cut a new power-sharing deal with president Serzh Sargsyan’s Republican Party of Armenia earlier this year and was given three ministerial portfolios.
Some newspaper stories argue that the alleged withdrawal of ARF from the coalition government is because of personal and professional differences between the newly appointed prime minister and the ministers representing the ARF.
‘All these rumors are not true. All three ministers from the ARF continue working and there are no plans to withdraw from the coalition", Minasyan said.
Regarding recurring debates between the prime minister and ARF ministers during the meeting of the government, Minasyan described them as ‘a normal working process.’
"The Supreme Body of the ARF and the Republican Party of Armenia have a clear objective to implement the power-sharing agreement; there is no disagreement between them regarding the objectives and the alleged tension between them is rather the desire of some individuals, than a reality," Minasyan said.
At the same time, he stressed that government meetings should take place in an atmosphere of dialogue and open discussions, which is very useful in terms of representing mutual positions and finding solutions. -0-
