YEREVAN, September 16. /ARKA/. The Armenian Revolutionary Federation/Dashnaktsutyun (ARF), a member of the coalition government together with ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), may replace its ministers in the new government or assume other portfolios, Armen Rustamyan, head of ARF parliamentary faction, told reporters today.
The new government is largely expected to be announced by the newly appointed prime minister Karen Karapetyan later this month.
Rustamyan claimed that his party has enough skilled members to fill in virtually all Cabinet positions. He said also the new prime minister can not ignore the environment in which he is working now. He singled out a coalition memorandum signed between the ARF and the Republican Party of Armenia, which ‘addresses almost all areas and activities for the implementation of government programs.’
"We have a government strategy and the new program (of the new government) should not be out of the general logic of the strategy. I think that it should become the basis for a new program of the government, otherwise we do not see why we should remain in the government," said Rustamyan.
However, he stressed that the memorandum is not a safeguard for ministers, so they have to prove their efficiency and professionalism. -0-
