Armen Gevorkyan resigns as chairman of Armenian parliamentary committee on regional and Eurasian integration

YEREVAN, July 13. /ARKA/. Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alain Simonyan signed a protocol on Tuesday terminating the powers of Armen Gevorkyan as chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on regional and Eurasian integration.

According to a statement on the parliament website, the protocol was signed on the basis of Gevorkyan’s resignation letter.

To recall, Simonyan intends to deprive tens of opposition lawmakers from Hayastan and Pativ Unem alliances of their seats because of missing more than half of sessions.

Simonyan's draft decision on appealing to the Constitutional Court with a request to terminate the mandates of 33 parliamentarians was published on the website of the National Assembly.

The discussion of this decision in the Armenian parliament will be held on July 14 and will concern the following MPs: Ishkhan Saghatelyan, Anna Grigoryan, Vahe Hakobyan, Armen Gevorkyan, Lilit Galstyan, Armen Rustamyan, Seyran Ohanyan, Elinar Vardanyan, Artsvik Minasyan, Artur Ghazinyan, Kristine Vardanyan, Gegham Manukyan, Agvan Vardanyan, Agnes Hamoyan, Andranik Tevanyan, Mkhitar Zakaryan, Ripsime Stambulian, Ashot Simonyan, Armen Charchyan, Elena Kirakosyan, Aspram Krpeyan, Armenuhi Kyureghyan, Aram Vardevanyan, Tadevos Avetisyan, Artur Sargsyan, Artur Khachatryan, Aregnaz Manukyan, Gegham Nazaryan, Zemfira Mirzoeva, Taron Margaryan, Anna Mkrtchyan, Hayk Mamijanyan and Tigran Abrahamyan. -0-
