YEREVAN, July 21. /ARKA/. Armenia and Georgia signed a readmission agreement on Monday that will enable more effective management of migration flows, according to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

A readmission law (or readmission agreement) is an international agreement between two countries (or between a country and an international organization, such as the EU) that regulates the procedure for returning persons illegally present in the territory of one state to their country of origin or former residence.

The document was signed by Armenian Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan, who is on a two-day working visit to Tbilisi, and Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Gela Geladze.

Geladze emphasized that frequent meetings contribute to the development of friendly and partnership relations, adding that operational communication between the two agencies is an essential tool in the more effective fight against transnational crime.-0-
