Armenia and Latvia believe it is necessary to expand trade and economic cooperation and develop specific areas of bilateral partnership.
YEREVAN, September 8. /ARKA/. Armenia and Latvia believe it is necessary to expand trade and economic cooperation and develop specific areas of bilateral partnership.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, these issues were discussed in Riga during a meeting between Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs and Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan.
The interlocutors also discussed the diversification of economic ties and mechanisms for expanding access for Armenian products to European markets.
Furthermore, they touched upon deepening the Armenia-EU partnership, advancing the country's European integration agenda, and new opportunities for economic development and regional connectivity that have opened up in the current peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Mirzoyan presented the ongoing work on the TRIPP project. The parties also discussed cooperation between Armenia and Latvia in international organizations, including in the context of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which will be held in Yerevan in October.
