Armenia and Turkey agreed to increase the number of mutual flights: Foreign Minister

YEREVAN, November 5. /ARKA/. Armenia and Turkey have successfully negotiated an increase in the number of flights connecting the two countries, announced RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during his address at the Orbeli Forum on "Establishing Peace and Multilateral Cooperation."

The minister indicated that, despite decades of closed borders between Armenia and Turkey, some level of interaction has persisted, encompassing travel, trade, and flights. "An agreement has been established to boost the number of flights from Turkey to Armenia – specifically to Yerevan and Gyumri, and correspondingly, from those locations to Istanbul and, I believe, also to Ankara," Mirzoyan remarked.

The Foreign Minister pointed out that the issues between Armenia and Turkey differ from those between Armenia and Azerbaijan, primarily stemming from the absence of diplomatic relations and the closed border.

"I can now express my satisfaction that a vigorous dialogue has been initiated with Turkey – regular meetings are occurring, the Armenian Prime Minister has made a visit, and I am participating in the Antalya Forum and other related events," he concluded.-0-
