YEREVAN, March 13. /ARKA/. A direct dialog is currently underway between Armenia and Turkey, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with Turkish media.

“If the previous period of our relations is taken into account, this is a very important change. In the past, we were deprived of the opportunity to mutually concretize our points of view,” Pashinyan said.

He emphasized that the relations between Armenia and Turkey imply opening the border for rail and road communication, as well as direct business contacts. “Indeed, even now there is a significant trade turnover between Armenia and Turkey, there are business contacts, but mostly indirectly,” Pashinyan said.

According to him, the process of establishing relations is dynamic and Armenia is making efforts to continue it. “Much depends on the political will of the authorities of both countries, which should be strengthened and developed on both sides,” the Armenian prime minister noted.

He noted that the question is not whether the issue of Armenian-Turkish relations will be settled.

“The question is when it will happen. It will be a matter of time, which for various reasons can be postponed for another three months, six months, a year. But my perception is that it is a matter of time and we have to patiently keep up with the times, guided by the logic of 'do no harm.' If we specifically and intentionally do not harm this process, the regulation of Armenia-Turkey relations is already a matter of time,” Pashinyan believes. -0-
