Armenia clearly stated that the document signed with the U.S. is not directed against Iran - IRI Ambassador

YEREVAN, February 6. /ARKA/. Armenian authorities have clearly conveyed to the Iranian side that the document Yerevan signed recently with the United States is not directed against Iran, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani said on Thursday.
At the same time, the diplomat noted that Yerevan assured that it will not take any steps to harm Iranian-Armenian relations or Tehran's interests.
According to him, there is mutual understanding between the Armenian and Iranian authorities on the issue.
“Both sides are deeply aware that bilateral relations are developing for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries,” the ambassador told reporters.
This mutual understanding, Sobhani noted, allows strengthening bilateral relations.
In his assessment, against the background of the maximum pressure of the United States on Iran, Tehran and Yerevan have always managed to develop relations.
The Charter on Strategic Partnership between Armenia and the United States was signed on January 14, 2025 in Washington.
The document establishes new areas of cooperation in the fields of economy and energy, security and defense, as well as strengthening democracy, justice and inclusiveness. --0--
