Armenia feels good in EEU and intends to deepen cooperation with Iran - Pashinyan

YEREVAN, January 31. /ARКА/. Armenia feels good in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), and the figures speak for themselves, said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a conference Friday.
"In terms of relations with Iran, we are interested in deepening and developing them. However, on the other hand, we cannot help but notice the desire of the majority of our people to formulate options for the future of Armenia," Pashinyan said.
According to him, Armenia will continue its path towards creating a strategic future.
"Our balanced foreign policy serves this. We will continue our path in this direction. We have contributed and continue to contribute to relations between the EEU and Iran," Pashinyan said.
About Armenia and the EAEU
According to the latest data from Armstat for 11 months of 2024, Armenia's trade with the EEU increased by 68.3% to $11.9 billion, accounting for more than 42% of the country's total foreign trade turnover, while trade with the EU, on the contrary, decreased by 14.1% to $2.1 billion. Its share is 7.5%.
Earlier, the Prime Minister stated that Armenia does not plan to sever economic ties and is not cutting trade turnover with the EEU and Russia. According to him, Armenia is on the path of economic diversification and wants to increase trade turnover with the European Union as well.
