Armenia-Greece and Armenia-Greece-Cyprus defense cooperation programs for 2025 signed in Athens

Bilateral consultations between Armenia and Greece, as well as trilateral consultations involving Armenia, Greece, and Cyprus on defense issues, took place yesterday in Athens, according to the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry.

YEREVAN, December 20. /ARKA/. Bilateral consultations between Armenia and Greece, as well as trilateral consultations involving Armenia, Greece, and Cyprus on defense issues, took place yesterday in Athens, according to the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry.

Following the consultations, the Armenia-Greece bilateral cooperation program and the Armenia-Greece-Cyprus trilateral cooperation program for 2025 were signed, including several dozen activities across various areas of the armed forces.

During the consultations, the results of defense cooperation in 2024 and plans for 2025 were on the discussion agenda.

A delegation from the Armenian Ministry of Defense, headed by Levon Ayvazyan, Head of the Defense Policy and International Cooperation Department, participated in the consultations.

The parties noted significant progress in cooperation, both quantitatively and qualitatively, covering key areas that require long-term, systematic work.

The discussions also addressed the introduction of new approaches and standards in the defense sector. Levon Ayvazyan presented the ongoing transformation of the Armenian army to his colleagues, emphasizing the contributions of partners from Greece and Cyprus, particularly in areas such as the preparation of various branches of the armed forces, military education, training and exercises, exchange of experience, as well as advisory support and other initiatives.

The latest regional and international military-political developments were also discussed. The parties underscored the importance of regularly holding defense consultations.
