Armenia insists on control over all cargo on its territory, including Azerbaijani

YEREVAN, February 13. /ARКА/. Any cargo passing through the territory of Armenia must be subject to control, said Arman Yeghoyan, chairman of the parliamentary committee on European integration.
"Armenia must know what is passing through its territory. Today there are technical means, there must be some control, as in the case of other cargo," Yeghoyan said at a press briefing, answering a question about the inspection of Azerbaijani cargo by Armenian customs authorities in the event of its possible transportation through the country's territory.
The head of the committee emphasized that this is a mandatory measure for all countries in similar situations.
The Armenian authorities have repeatedly stated their readiness to open communications, provided that the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries through whose territory they pass are preserved. Yerevan categorically rejects the extraterritorial, so-called "Zangezur corridor" or a similar scheme promoted by the Azerbaijani side. -0-
