Armenia is discussing parameters of vehicles traveling through Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)
YEREVAN, November 25. /ARKA/. The Armenian National Assembly Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration has given its positive opinion on the draft amendments to the RA Law "On Road Transport" and related laws, as well as the ratification of the aforementioned agreement, discussed in the second reading.

"The draft law defines the permissible weight, axle loads, and dimensions of vehicles traveling on the roads of EAEU member states that are part of Eurasian transport corridors and routes," said Armen Simonyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, at a commission meeting on Monday.

According to him, in accordance with the Agreement, EAEU member states, when carrying out road transportation, strive to ensure that the dimensions and weight of vehicles, as well as the weight of one axle or group of axles, do not exceed the values established by the Agreement and the legislation of the member states.

The deputy minister added that, compared to the first reading, only one technical amendment has been made to the draft law.

The need to adopt the draft laws is due to the EAEU Protocol "On Agreed (Coordinated) Transport Policy" in order to ensure the implementation of the Program for the Phased Liberalization of Road Freight Transportation by Carriers Registered in the Territory of One EAEU Member State for the Period from 2016 to 2025 between points located on the territory of another EAEU member state.
