YEREVAN, July 16. /ARKA/. Armenia is interested in opening transport infrastructures in the region and in becoming a transit country, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

“We are interested in establishing bilateral trade between Armenia and Azerbaijan, international communication through the territory of Armenia to third countries, from Azerbaijan through the territory of Armenia to third countries and transit exchange,” Pashinyan said at a press conference on Wednesday.

According to him, Armenia’s position on unblocking communications was previously voiced; it is reflected in the “Crossroads of Peace” project.

“That is, in this regard, we show consistent interest and readiness. In all our discussions, it is very clearly stated that we represent all these processes within the framework of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and jurisdiction of the country,” Pashinyan said.

Pashinyan stated that it is important to record this, because any further discussion takes place, has taken place and will take place in this context.

“That is, there has never been any discussion that would be torn from the agenda of territorial integrity, sovereignty and jurisdiction, or would contradict this agenda. There are known cases of delegation of management, some of which we are happy with, and some of which we are unhappy with. For example, the management of the Zvartnots airport has been delegated, and I do not think that in this context the territorial integrity, sovereignty and jurisdiction of Armenia have been violated. The management of water resources has been delegated, there was an attempt to delegate Haypost earlier. The airport, water resources, and management of railways have also been delegated, given that the South Caucasus Railway remains the property of Armenia,” Pashinyan noted.

He stated that the creation of a company that will attract investments is being discussed, the "Crossroads of Peace" project has enormous investment potential and we must consolidate these investments.
