Armenia Prepares for TRIPP Implementation: Routes, Development, and Political Will for Peace
YEREVAN, January 15. /ARKA/. The meaning and practical significance of the joint statement on the framework for implementing the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) lies in the fact that peace is being established in Armenia and the region through very concrete and practical steps. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Following their meeting in Washington on January 13, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a joint statement on the framework for implementing the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP). The document defines the general mechanism for launching the project, which aims to establish seamless multimodal transit connectivity through Armenia, including connecting the mainland of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Region and integrating it into the Trans-Caspian Trade Route.

"This has already become a reality. We must treat the established peace with care. As a state and as a society, we don't know what it means to live in peace. We are only gradually learning this, and this is a very important process. Peace is very slowly entering our consciousness, and this is normal," Pashinyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.

He cited the fact that reality "on the ground" allows for peace as good news.

"Agreements must be adopted now. A company called TRIPP must be established in Armenia. Routes, development rights, land use, and the issuance of construction permits must be determined. Preparations must begin today," Pashinyan said.

He declared his readiness to ensure unimpeded communication between mainland Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan, in accordance with the previously stated principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and jurisdiction.

"We must abandon the logic of conflict. But this won't happen overnight, either in Armenia or Azerbaijan. The wheel that has been spinning for over 35 years cannot be stopped overnight. Tangible benefits from peace can yield more than discussions about challenges and doubts. New times are coming, and we must work more focused to make the most of this historic opportunity for the development, freedom, happiness, and well-being of Armenia and its citizens," Pashinyan said.
