Armenia promotes unblocking transport links for benefit of Azerbaijan and Georgia - Mirzoyan

YEREVAN, January 30. /ARKA/. Armenia backs the idea of unblocking transport infrastructure, which would benefit all countries in the region, said Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
“We have proposed constructive solutions to Azerbaijan and are awaiting a positive response from this country,” Mirzoyan said at a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart, Maka Bochorishvili, in Yerevan on Thursday.
According to him, Armenia is confident that the proposed unblocking, under the given conditions, will bring significant economic benefits to the South Caucasus countries—Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
The Armenian minister added that Armenia's approach is outlined in the "Crossroads of Peace" project, which includes simplified procedures that could be implemented, enabling both Armenia and Azerbaijan to benefit.
About the "Crossroads of Peace" Project
The Armenian regional communications project, "Crossroads of Peace," was presented by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the Silk Road Forum in Tbilisi in November 2023. The main idea behind the project is to launch and develop transport communications between Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Iran, using roads, railways, cables, pipelines, and power lines.
This would create a short and efficient route between the Caspian Sea and the Mediterranean, as well as a route from the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea. According to Armenia's stance, all infrastructures will operate under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries through which they pass, with each country handling border and customs control on its own territory and ensuring the safe movement of goods, vehicles, and people.
