Armenia's judicial system faces "problems that are deeper than we imagine," stated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
YEREVAN, October 23. /ARKA/. Armenia's judicial system faces "problems that are deeper than we imagine," stated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
He suggested asking the public what they think about the judicial system and trials. "We must address this issue during the process of adopting the new Constitution. We must understand what we mean by judicial independence," Pashinyan said during government hour in parliament on Wednesday.
Pashinyan described the lack of an organic connection with the people as a systemic problem. "It is insular. How can this problem be solved? I see the solution in introducing a jury system. There are other ideas that need to be discussed in the context of the new Constitution, regarding the judicial system we dream of, and regarding the state system we dream of. This requires very serious investments," Pashinyan said.
