Armenia-Saudi Arabia parliamentary friendship group established

YEREVAN, January 3. /ARKA/. The Armenian Parliament's Committee on Foreign Relations has approved the decision on the establishment of Armenia-Saudi Arabia Friendship Group.
The reasoning behind the decision states that the countries established diplomatic relations last year and appointed ambassadors. It is also noted that a similar friendship group with Armenia was established in the parliament of Saudi Arabia.
Diplomatic relations between Armenia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were established about a year and a half ago.
On July 30 last year, Karen Grigoryan (Armenian Ambassador to the UAE with residence in Abu Dhabi) was appointed to serve also as the first Armenian Ambassador to the Kingdom.
According to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two countries aim at strengthening and expanding cooperation in political, economic, technological, trade and cultural areas, as well as promoting international security and peace.-0-
