Armenia will benefit more from TRIPP than other countries – US Ambassador
YEREVAN, December 16. /ARКА/. Armenia will benefit more from the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) than other countries, US Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien stated in an interview with Civilnet.
According to her, this route will help connect East with West, West with East, and ultimately, Central Asia with Western Europe.
"The Caucasus has long been an obstacle to this route for various geopolitical reasons. By creating a safe and secure route in both the north and south, passing through Nakhichevan, then through Armenia to Gyumri and the Turkish province of Kars, a transit route connecting East with West and vice versa will be opened, benefiting virtually all countries through which it passes," Kvien noted.
The ambassador emphasized that Armenia may benefit more than other countries, as its eastern and western borders have been closed for more than 30 years.
"The TRIPP project envisages that it will be developed jointly with the United States through a joint venture, the creation of which we are currently promoting. Armenia will have a constant presence at the negotiating table to facilitate its development and ensure that its territorial integrity, sovereignty, and jurisdiction are respected. Therefore, I believe TRIPP provides Armenia with very strong guarantees that it will not face the problems that have been of concern," Kvien said.
About the TRIPP route
The agreement on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project was reached between the leaders of Armenia, the United States, and Azerbaijan and was enshrined in a trilateral declaration signed in Washington on August 8, 2025.
On December 10, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the Armenian-American joint venture, TRIPP Company, would be awarded the right to develop the necessary infrastructure—railways, roads, oil and gas pipelines, and fiber-optic cables—and would be registered in Armenia. The implementation and construction phase is scheduled to begin in 2026.-0-
