Armenia and Azerbaijan on the verge of reaching an agreement on establishing peace - Armenian National Assembly speaker
YEREVAN, October 15. /ARKA/. Armenia and Azerbaijan are on the verge of reaching an agreement on establishing peace, said Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan.
"Considering that the peace process started in earnest several months ago, Azerbaijan wanted our agreement on five internationally recognized points (of the peace treaty). I am pleased to announce that today we have reached full agreement on 16 points," Simonyan said, speaking at the 149th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
He emphasized that the time has come to make peace: the time for peace is now.
" We invite Azerbaijan to muster the political will to seize the moment and join us in making the possible real. Armenia, for its part, is ready to sign a peace treaty even today," Simonyan noted. -0-
