Armenia and the United Kingdom effectively cooperate in the field of defense, Armenian defense minister Vigen Sargsyan said today at a meeting with the British ambassador in Armenia Judith Margaret Farnworth.

YEREVAN, November 2. /ARKA/. Armenia and the United Kingdom effectively cooperate in the field of defense, Armenian defense minister Vigen Sargsyan said today at a meeting with the British ambassador in Armenia Judith Margaret Farnworth.

"Sargsyan expressed hope for the deepening and broadening of the effective cooperation in defense area existing between Armenia and the Great Britain", - the Armenian defense ministry said in a statement.

It said the sides discussed a set of issues pertaining to bilateral cooperation and regional security. The minister congratulated the British military attaché David Ross Etella (residence in Tbilisi) with accreditation to Armenia and wished him productive activity.

The plan of cooperation in the defense area between Armenia and the United Kingdom for 2016-2017 was signed on January 14 this year in London by Armenian deputy defense minister David Tonoyan and Nick Gurr, the head of the international security department of the United Kingdom’s defense ministry. The document provides for cooperation in the field of military education and retraining. -- 0--
