Armenia awaits Azerbaijani response to its peace treaty proposals
YEREVAN, April 11. /ARKA/. Armenia is waiting for Azerbaijan to respond to its peace treaty proposals, Sargis Khandanyan, chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on foreign relations from the ruling Civil Contract party, said today.
"The sides have several fundamental positions around which it is difficult to reach an agreement. We have our red lines, Azerbaijan has its own. There are many issues on which it is difficult to reconcile positions," he told reporters.
According to Khandanyan, the red lines of the Armenian side are to ensure the viability of the future peace treaty.
"The second is to ensure Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity," the MP said.
According to Khandanyan, all stakeholders, including the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, are interested in establishing peace and stability in the region. -0-
