Armenia considers Azerbaijan's position on peace treaty regressive
YEREVAN, January 10. /ARKA/. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan pointed to regression in Azerbaijan's position on some points of the peace treaty.
"We received Azerbaijani proposals, and on January 4 we handed over Armenian proposals. I would say that in terms of content we see a certain regression in Azerbaijani proposals on some points of the text and certain progress in some other directions," Mirzoyan said at a joint press briefing with visiting Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis on Wednesday.
He expressed confidence that the proposals sent by Armenia are very constructive. At the same time, he noted that progress or regression on some points is not so important as the fact of adhering to the basic principles of concluding a peace treaty.
"The countries should recognize each other's territorial integrity without any ambiguities. The final peace treaty should ensure this constant. Also, in the peace treaty we should see the basis on which the delimitation process should continue. These are the issues on which Armenia cannot allow any ambiguity," Mirzoyan said. --0--
