YEREVAN, October 17. /ARKA/. Armenia's National Security Service (NSS) has denied today Azerbaijani allegations claiming that Armenia is using passenger planes to bring in ammunition from other countries.
"The National Security Service of Armenia officially denies this fiction, fabricated by a sick imagination. Dissemination of such lies has become the main component of the hostilities unleashed by the Turkish-Azerbaijani terrorist mercenary alliance, aiming to strike a blow to Armenia's image, as well as to its relations with partner and friendly countries," the NSS said in a statement.
The NSS said it has data proving that Azerbaijan is secretly transporting a significant amount of ammunition and large number of mercenary terrorists to its territory, evidenced by flights made by Boeing-747 and IL-76 aircraft of the Azerbaijani Silk Way cargo carrier from Baku airport to military airports of different countries and back.
"For example, on October 16, an aircraft took off from Baku and landed at Bagram airport in Afghanistan, on October 17, the same aircraft took off from Bagram airport and landed at Lashkar Gah airport in Pakistan and from there it flew back to Baku. The same route is also planned for October 18. Flights from the intermediate Baku airport are also planned to Kandahar airport in Afghanistan and back. Moreover, such flights will also be made after October 19," the NSS said.
The NSS said that some of these flights are absent from the international system of timetables, and some airports do not have an international classification.
These data, according to the NSS statement, indicate that the Turkish-Azerbaijani terrorist alliance is trying to expand their actions to attract terrorists and bring in ammunition, and also to conceal its malicious style of work by attributing its own illegal actions to the Armenian side in order to create tension in various international relations.
"The National Security Service of Armenia, officially addresses the competent international structures, calling them not to succumb to Azerbaijani incitement and not to accept the spreading disinformation as a basis. At the same time, we urge them to investigate the reliable information we have provided, to comprehensively check it and to find out the real circumstances and purposes of delivery to Azerbaijan of military cargo and passengers by the indicated flights," the NSS said.
On September 27th the Azerbaijani military launched a large-scale offensive against the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) using missiles, artillery and suicide drones against civilian populations in Artsakh’s capital Stepanakert as well as other civilian populations in and around Artsakh, as well as against certain areas of the Republic of Armenia’s town of Vardenis, causing death and injury to dozens of civilians.
According to official Armenian sources, some 6000 Azerbaijani soldiers have been killed in the heavy fighting since September 27 and thousands have been wounded. Armenian troops have destroyed 541 tanks and armored vehicles, 4 MLRS Smerch and Uragan, 4 MLRS TOS-1A, 176 UAVs, 16 helicopters and 19 aircraft.
According to the defense ministries of Armenia and Artsakh, about 600 Armenian servicemen have been killed and several hundred have been wounded. As a result of war crimes committed by Azerbaijan, 32 civilians have been killed and over 100 wounded.
Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to a Russia-brokered cease-fire in Nagorno-Karabakh starting at 12 pm October 10 after 10 hours of talks in Moscow sponsored by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to the humanitarian ceasefire for the exchange of prisoners of war and the bodies of those killed through the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement October 10 evening that violating its own commitment, Azerbaijan continued military operations in various sectors of the frontline, firing also at settlements of the Syunik region of Armenia. -0-
