Armenia interested in development of cooperation among BSEC members

Armenia is interested in the expansion of multilateral economic cooperation across the Black Sea region, parliament speaker Ara Babloyan said today when opening the 52nd plenary session of the General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) in Yerevan.
YEREVAN, November 27. /ARKA/. Armenia is interested in the expansion of multilateral economic cooperation across the Black Sea region, parliament speaker Ara Babloyan said today when opening the 52nd plenary session of the General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) in Yerevan.
He said the Black Sea region is an important hub of cooperation for transportation of energy resources between East and West, a dynamically growing market with 350 million populations.
"I am deeply convinced that in the modern world we should not forget that solving most of the difficult problems is possible through honest, frank and impartial dialogue. Inter-parliamentary cooperation and parliamentary diplomacy are indispensable tools for it," Babloyan said.
He said Armenia is also ready to make its constructive contribution to the development of cooperation between the BSEC countries.
"I am confident that today's meeting will be another step towards strengthening of economic cooperation between our countries," said Babloyan.
The PABSEC, established on February 26, 1993, includes 12 countries: Albania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine. The parliaments of Egypt, Israel, Slovakia, Germany and France have observer status in the organization.
The rotating chairmanship of the PABSEC is changed every six months in alphabetical order. -0
