YEREVAN, November 23. /ARKA/. Armenia is not seeking to withdraw from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan told reporters on Thursday. He added that Armenia is neither seeking the withdrawal of the Russian military base from its territory.

"At this stage, at this moment, there are no such issues on our agenda," Safaryan said in a comment on a Russian State Duma member Konstantin Zatulin's words that Armenian authorities may push for withdrawal of the Russian military base from Armenia as well as for Armenia's withdrawal from the CSTO and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

Asked to assess the relations between Yerevan and Moscow amid mutual accusations, the deputy minister said that "the relations between the countries are working in nature.'

"Naturally, there are disagreements on some issues. However, we continue to work on immediate response," the deputy minister said.

In an interview with a Russian radio station Zatulin expressed concern that the accelerating deterioration of relations between Armenia and Russia may jeopardize the presence of the Russian military base in Armenia's Gyumri, as well as Armenia's membership in the CSTO and EEU. -0--
