YEREVAN, September 23. /ARKA/. One of the main tasks of the Armenian opposition parties is to show their country fellows that they have an alternative, political strategist Vigen Hakobyan told a news conference today.
“Part or most of the public may be dissatisfied with the government, but if the opposition has no real alternative to it, then the opposition's moves would be a political process only that would result in nothing. If the public is dissatisfied with something, then it must understand who it can rely on," he said.
In this context, he said a large rally planned by three opposition parties for October 8 is the first big attempt to show they have an alternative.
Three opposition parties - Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun and the Motherland party - announced their intention to hold a rally on October 8 on the capital's Freedom Square.
“They have to show strength. To show strength is a demonstration of not only human resources, but also finances, because the public is trying to find a strong alternative that it can rely on and be sure that there will be no deviations in the middle of this path,” Hakobyan said.
He also noted that the alternative forces must demonstrate consolidation, since there is a public demand for it. --0--
