Armenia ratifies CIS anti-corruption council agreement

Armenia’s parliament has ratified today an agreement on the establishment of a CIS Interstate Anti-Corruption Council, signed in 2013 in Minsk, Belarus, deputy chief of Police Vardan Yeghiazaryan, said to reporters adding that the agreement provides for coordination of the fight against corruption across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), uniting several former Soviet republics.

YEREVAN, October 25. /ARKA/. Armenia’s parliament has ratified today an agreement on the establishment of a CIS Interstate Anti-Corruption Council, signed in 2013 in Minsk, Belarus, deputy chief of Police Vardan Yeghiazaryan, said to reporters adding that the agreement provides for coordination of the fight against corruption across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), uniting several former Soviet republics.

According to him, the Council is expected to deal, in particular, with the development of special programs and priority areas of cooperation in this sphere.

"In addition, the Council will deal with the organization, training and development of skills of staff, joint research work on the problems in the sphere of combating corruption", - Yeghiazaryan said.  -0-
