“We will be implementing the previous contract before the end of this year,” he said. “We are waiting for new supplies these days and before the end of the year we’ll settle all the matters related to the previous contract.”
In June 2015, Armenia sealed an agreement with Russia to receive a $200 million export loan from the latter for purchasing Russia-made ammunition.
The loan has been provided for 13 years at a 3% interest rate with a three-year grace period.
“We have already signed a new contract, which has to go through all necessary procedures in Russia and Armenia and then also a ratification procedure,” Sargsyan said in his interview. “And after that we will begin our work with appropriate producers on the Russia side for implementation of this program. Unfortunately, this takes time.” --0----
