YEREVAN, December 10. /ARKA/. Russia’s State Duma has ratified the treaty about Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) today.

The bill of the treaty was sent to the parliament by the Russian president Vladimir Putin. In May, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan ratified the treaty about formation of the EEU as from January 1, 2015. Armenia joined the treaty in Mink on October 10, and the respective document is expected to be ratified by the EEU member-countries by January 1.

Head of the State Duma committee for CIS affairs Leonid Slutsky said Armenia is through preparations for EEU integration. Solutions have been found to all issues, including the no-common-border problem, Slutsky said.

The agreement has six articles and five appendices that define solutions to all problems, including the ones Armenia faced in transition periods set for the country to adapt to the new EEU legal framework, he said.

A number of goods will be exempt from customs duties (aviation products, helicopters, personal cars). The maximum validity period for these exemptions is by 2022, Slutsky said as quoted by Novosti-Armenia referring to RIA Novosti. –0--
