Armenia’s participation in the Eurasian project will strengthen the country’s economic capacity a great deal, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the ceremony of the opening of a Russian-Armenian interregional forum in Armenia’s city of Gyumri.

YEREVAN, December 2. /ARKA/. Armenia’s participation in the Eurasian project will strengthen the country’s economic capacity a great deal, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the ceremony of the opening of a Russian-Armenian interregional forum in Armenia’s city of Gyumri.
He expressed confidence that the country will build up its economic capacity and improve its investment climate and establish new direct business ties also at an interregional level.
Putin said that Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan’s participation in the Customs Union is already bringing these countries visible dividends.
“Despite the adverse foreign economy trends seen in the last years, there three countries’ GDP grew 1.7% in the first half of 2013,” the Russian president said. “The lifting of customs and administrative barriers creates favorable environment for trade growth. Trade turnover in the Customs Union and Eurasian Economic Space added two percent less fuel and energy component in Jan-Aug 2013.” ----0----
