Armenia’s president participates in Orinats Erkir party’s congress

YEREVAN, March 5. /ARKA/. Serge Sargsyan, President of Armenia, was present at the Tenth Congress of Orinats Erkir Party, one of the three ruling Armenian coalition parties, held in Yerevan. Arthur Baghdasaryan, Orinats Erkir Party leader, Secretary of Council of National Security of Armenia, reported on the Party’s activity results as well as the future strategy.

Orinats Erkir plans to make all the necessary efforts to ensure fair elections as well as its representation in the new National Assembly, according to the statement on the results of the congress, bearing in mind an important role of parliamentary elections of May 6, in establishing democratic system and legal state. “After receiving national votes, Orinats Erkir Party will make all the efforts to go on with coherent implementation of reforms, for which it is responsible,” the statement says.Gagik Tsarukyan, a leader of Prosperous Armenia, another coalition party, was also present at the congress.

Orinats Erkir, a centrist political party of Armenia, headed by Arthur Baghdasaryan, Secretary of Council of National Security of Armenia, former speaker of National Assembly, is one of the three riling coalition parties represented in the parliament. The coalition, including also Republican and Prosperous Armenia parties, was formed on March 21, 2008.--0--
