Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan visited on Friday the United States Embassy in Yerevan to congratulate Ambassador John Heffern, the embassy staff and the American people on U.S. Independence Day.

YEREVAN, July 4. / ARKA./ Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan visited on Friday the United States Embassy in Yerevan to congratulate Ambassador John Heffern, the embassy staff and the American people on U.S. Independence Day.

Sargsyan’s press office said the president sent a congratulatory message to his U.S. opposite number Barack Obama, which, particularly, reads: 

"Dear Mr. President, I warmly congratulate you and the friendly people of the U.S. on the Independence Day, and wish you peace, prosperity and good luck in all your endeavors." 

President Sargsyan noted also that Armenia emphasizes its friendship with the United States saying that by joint efforts the two countries managed to raise their bilateral partnership to a new level. 

He also stressed the importance of continued U.S. involvement as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. 

“We expect the USA to continue its active brokerage for a lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus," Sargsyan’s message says. 0-
