Armenia to open consulate general in Dubai

Armenia will open a consulate general in Dubai (the United Arab Emirates), Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian told a government session today.
YEREVAN, January 12. /ARKA/. Armenia will open a consulate general in Dubai (the United Arab Emirates), Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian told a government session today. The minister said the decision to open the consulate general stems from a corresponding decree of the president of Armenia.
According to a government decision, the need for the establishment of the consulate general in Dubai is dictated by the annual progress in Armenia's relations with the Gulf countries.
Another factor is that Dubai is home to about 3000 Armenian citizens. According to the government, the opening of consulate general in Dubai will allow, in addition to provision of consular services, to carry out also trade, economic and investment projects. -0-
