Armenia- US friendship group to be created in Armenian parliament

YEREVAN, September 16. /ARKA/. Armenia’s National Assembly will soon set up the Armenia-US Friendship Group, Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan said at a meeting with US Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy today.

According to Simonyan, this group will become an important link for expanding cooperation between the legislative bodies of the countries, as well as for the development of interstate relations.

He said Armenia has developed extensive partnership and friendly relations with the United States since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Simonyan also praised the U.S. for the support it has been providing over the years for the strengthening of democracy, economic development and reforms in Armenia.

In turn, Ambassador Tracy noted that the US administration will continue to closely cooperate with the Armenian authorities.--0--
