YEREVAN, March 20. / ARKA /. Armenia wants to build such relations with its neighbors, which are aimed at the future, secretary of the National Security Council, Arthur Baghdasaryan, said in a speech at a NATO-sponsored international conference in Yerevan on NATO Partnership in the South Caucasus.

"Armenia has always advocated resolution of regional problems through mutually acceptable compromises, because it is much better than mindless confrontation. We really should be able to build relationships with our neighbors, aimed at the future. After all, we do not choose neighbors,” said Bagdasaryan.

According to him, a safe and stable South Caucasus is important not only for NATO, but also for those interested in this region, for the  civilized society , so it is necessary to find a compromise solution to the problem of Nagorno-Karabakh .
"But today we see an open militaristic policy of the Azerbaijani leadership, anti-Armenian propaganda, which is a concern to us," said Baghdasaryan.

"Azeris and Armenians lived in peace for a long time, and we should be able to eradicate hatred, propaganda of hate, which unfortunately are backed by Azerbaijani authorities”, he added.

The two-day conference organized by the Centre for Strategic Analysis Spectrum has brought to Yerevan political analysts and experts from Azerbaijan , Georgia, USA, Russia , Turkey, Iran , UK, Spain and  Belgium, to discuss regional security issues, Euro-Atlantic prospects, European and Eurasian partnership and cooperation  and development trends in each of the regional countries. -0-
