Armenian Defense Ministry: Azerbaijani armed forces shelled village in Syunik region

YEREVAN, April 14. /ARKA/. The Armenian Ministry of Defense has reported that Azerbaijani Armed Forces fired at a village in the Syunik region.
"On April 13, at around 10:20 p.m., units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of the village of Khnatsakh in the Syunik region, resulting in damage to the building of the local cultural center. There were no casualties," the statement said.
The Armenian Ministry of Defense called on the Azerbaijani side to investigate the shelling of the cultural center in Khnatsakh and to issue a public explanation.
The ministry also recalled that the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia had proposed the creation of a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations and related reports. However, Azerbaijan has yet to respond to this proposal.
The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is relatively calm at the moment, no accumulations have been recorded, Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan said.
“The shots mentioned (in the media), if any, are untargeted, untargeted and even few in number,” Sargsyan noted at a press briefing on Monday.
The deputy minister emphasized that the Armed Forces are doing their job within the framework of their powers and duties, and the first priority is to ensure security.
